Bandwidth

What is bandwidth?

Bandwidth is a term used in the computer world as a way to describe a physical or virtual maximum load of data that can be passed on from a provider, such as an ISP. This is usually measured in bits of data, such as “megabytes”, or “gigabytes”. Most home networks have a bandwidth connection that stays in the megabyte limit of data transfer. But some places need far more speed, and this is where some business internet providers have plans such that allow for several gigabytes of bandwidth. For example, EpicUp has a business plan that allows for a 10 gigabyte connection. Business that work exclusively through the internet either through distribution of software or by selling online services that allow for a lot bandwidth.
